At first Oracle touted it as a fad, IBM simplified it as an extension of the extranet, but guess what, Amazon embraced it as a new beginning and now guess who’s walking to the bank smiling?
What’s clear from trends are that even traditionalist company’s stand in the way of new potentials. Amazon Web Services is successful because of an ecomerce brokers non-traditional view of the world. The margins may be thin, but the market it’s created can be harnessed in many ways. Software as a service is a winning offer because the world solutions are now beig automated for better insights, control and efficiencies. It’s a software or application world now and IT people people are now being called to do what it does best but outside the confines it once was locked in. Even yet, the non-IT person can now manage technology without having to be saddled with the “9 yards” of technology management.
