I am ashamed of myself, as a black, as an African. Can you name me one president and parliamentarians in a democratic Africa country that has shame? That is taking that energy of being shameful and turning it into real results? If there is one, please name them, we’ve got to recognize them. But alas, don’t waste your mind thinking, you will not find one. It may not be my fault that am ashamed, yet i have to be ashamed. It’s all that i can truly say I have, shame. Education, wealth, a job, house, car are just nothing, they only objects of shame, and that’s what I can see all around me.

There is no amount of achievement I can have even outside my continent of birth, am still ashamed. That shame only results in an energy which leads only to hard working. When pastors and so called bishops woo followers to get more offerings every sunday and other days whilst diseases lay claim to our own I should be ashamed. When politicians praise each other over basic actions that is their jobs only to be able to win political points and play on sycophancy for their own profiteering actions, it’s a shame.

-A shame that with all our resources we cannot even curb malaria after so many decades of talking about it.

-A shame that we buy new cars and build mansions but the basics that are needed to keep our society together, even the very simple things such as health, sanitation, utilities etc are poorly administered.

-A shame that my likes are looked down on or second guessed simply because they come from the continent Africa.

-A shame that we have what we call leaders who take business trips out with spending of huge amounts that can implement sustainable systems for village are rather overlooked.

-A shame that we have what is called leadership and as I watch and hear them speak the huge ego and pride but stealing” and “maiming” of the innocent as they lie about progress and projects playing on the hope of many.

I rather be shameful, so as to have the energy and the appeal to truly turn those around me or influence them to wake up, snap out of the stupidity that’s left us, Africans, where we are. A shame that our leaders wear “big dresses and put on big gowns to ceremonies” whilst the mass suffer to pay the taxes that keep them in power at the peril bestowed by same leadership. Am truly ashamed, and my shame has always been with me each day for so long. For all the education that we year for it’s is clear that it’s basically useless if we have’nt been able to as a people turn our own destiny around. Am ashamed by how we are managing Eboa, and for Ghana, it will rather invest in a third party to hash the countrys name from among those impacted by Ebola. I cannot understand how we can even be proud of what we call our selves, “Africans”, “Countries”, “a continent”? Am really ashamed!
